Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

“When life feels heavy, remember–even the moon goes through darkness before it shines again.  There are nights when everything feels too much—when doubt gets loud and your strength feels thin.  But darkness is not the end; it is a passage.  A moment.  A cycle.  Just like the moon, you are allowed phases; dim days; quiet days; days you disappear just to restore yourself.  Your light is never lost; it is simply gathering itself.  You will shine again—not despite the darkness, but because of it.”  Quote from LinkedIn—author unknown

As this National Day of Thanks we call Thanksgiving Day approaches, I am thinking of all the families displaced by the tornados that ripped through sections of north city.  I am thinking of the unimaginable horrors faced by families in Ukraine, Gaza, Israel, and other war-torn areas in our world.  I am thinking of the many refugees seeking a place where they can raise their families and live their lives in peace.  Will their darkness soon pass?  Will their light ever shine again?

I will soon gather around a table with my family, in comfort and warmth, music and laughter, feelings of thanks, joy and togetherness.  Many of us will do the same.  As we do gather, let us not hesitate to give thanks for our good fortunes and many blessings but let us remember those far less fortunate.  Maybe, just maybe, a simple prayer by your family and mine will turn a light on somewhere in the world where darkness has prevailed too long.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my industry friends and supporters of PEOPLE.  For those that may want to participate in my ALDI Gift Card program for the holidays, email me at PEOPLEofconstruction@gmail.com and I will share the details of the program.  It is a simple program aimed to light up a room and a Thanksgiving/Christmas table that is now dark, searching for light.

Thanks to the generosity of family and friends, I have distributed thirty ALDI gift cards of $100 value each to thirty families for their Thanksgiving tables. I have another thirty to distribute in time for Christmas. The need is great this year and there is plenty of time left to join in the fun…and to fill some empty tables with love, food, and drink. I will hold off the Christmas cards until mid-December so donations will be accepted up until that time and shortly thereafter.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.
