In these post pandemic times, I have decided to focus my PEOPLE meetings on smaller groups, which I am calling TableTop Discussions.  The meetings will be held at the new and beautifully furnished Delmar DivINe complex located at 5501 Delmar.  Yes, located on the north side of Delmar.

My meetings will involve discussions of selected business topics and will be offered free of charge to the minority contracting community and all who wish to attend.  My goal is to bring in industry professionals to help with the discussions and together we will kick around best business practices and assist in resolving many of the unique challenges of our industry.

TableTop discussions are not classes.  I am not a teacher.  The intent is for each of us to share our knowledge and experiences and help each other with understanding everyday business issues within the design and construction industry.  And, of course, the primary purpose of these pared down meetings is for all attending to meet each other, get to know each other, and lean on each other, in good times and in bad.

We have had eight “discussion” sessions thus far and they have been well attended and most productive. I like the feel of these meetings. Small enough to have your voice heard and large enough to sit and listen if you so choose. A nice spread of opinions and experiences.

This coming Wednesday, March 22, from 11:30 to 1:00 we will be discussing OWNER CONTRACTS and I will be joined by Mark Cochran, COO of SM Wilson and Tom Sieckhaus, VP of Clayco.  This will be an interesting and productive discussion so come join the fun and be a part of the solution.

The next set of discussions will be held on Wednesday, April 5 and April 19 from 11:30 to 1:00 and the topic of discussion will be announced later, as soon as I come up with a great idea. Put these dates and times on your calendar.
